In the last post we talked a lot about reflecting on this past year. That’s an essential aspect of the goal setting process.
Now that you’ve taken the time to think back on 2019, let’s dive deep into creating your business goals for 2020!
I try to break down my goals by quarter. They seem so much more attainable when I am able to separate them by time of year. In my business, there are certain times of year that are busier than others. Goal setting this way allows me to be intentional with what quarters I set certain goals.
I keep it to around 3 goals per quarter. Three goals per quarter allows you to truly focus on accomplishing them fully and intentionally.
Use the grid below to help you separate your goals by quarter.
Now that you’ve set your goals, lets take it one step further. This is a hefty task, but an important one! You’re going to give 2020 a word. Yes, just one word to describe what you hope your year to look like.
What’s your word for 2020? What theme are you feeling for the year? Look at your goals and see if you notice any commonalities? You can even assign a theme per quarter to help you get to your ‘Word of the Year.’
My word of the year is SIMPLICITY. I’ll be delving more into what simplicity looks like for my business in another post! Time to share yours. Drop your 2020 word below!
Happy goal setting friends!
